Trial/Expired Version Limitations
|
|
Unless Kremlin is registered, certain limitations restrict the functionality
of the product. During the first 30 days of trial period the installed
version is called Trial Version. As soon as the 30 days are passed,
Trial Version becomes Expired Version.
List of limitations in Trial and Expired versions follow.
Trial Version Limitations
T1. Before encrypting a message, Kremlin Text appends a promotional
ad to it.
T2. Number of files that can be added into a Kremlin archive
is limited to 10. This affects Kremlin Encrypt and Kremlin AutoCrypt.
T3. Compression is disabled when encrypting.
T4. Only NewDES is allowed for encryption.
T5. For every action except decrypt the registration notice appears
occasionally. This limitation doesn't affect Register utility, Kremlin
Setup Wizard and Kremlin Options.
T6. After 30-day trial period, trial version becomes expired.
Expired Version Limitations
E1. All the utilities except for Kremlin Decrypt/Encrypt, Kremlin
Text, Register, Kremlin Setup Wizard and Kremlin Options become unavailable.
When they are launched, they show the registration notice dialog and
allow pressing "OK" only for registered code (not the trial one).
E2. Kremlin Encrypt and Kremlin Text: Encrypt issue the registration
notice dialog every time they activated. "OK" button in the dialog becomes
clickable only after 3 seconds have passed. The user is still able to
click "Cancel" or "Purchase Code" buttons without having to wait.
